Bangs for Soft and Flamboyant Naturals

Natural types are kind of known for having the most relaxed look when it comes to clothes and hair. Tousled, loose hair are common recommendations for naturals.

Naturals are know to be able to pull off the purposefully messy look quite easily. What's not so easy for the natural is bangs. Some types are just prone to bang better than others. The gamines for example tend to look great in bangs and many different types a well. From the baby bang to the full bang look.

So, what's a bang obsessed natural to do? The most important tip I could give about bangs for a natural is don't get bangs. Seriously, it's just too few and far between that a natural looks better with bangs than with out. But if you must bang yourself, please consider these guidelines.

1. Soft Naturals: A Curtain bang is your best bet.

Now, I'm not just saying this because they're kind of a thing right now. Curtain bangs are probably the only style bang soft natural can consistently pull off. Now, This doesn't mean you won't look cute in a blunt or baby bang. You might. But will it be your best look? Probably not.

Note: I get these are probably wigs and won't look great to begin with but you can clearly see how these bang styles just aren't the best for them.

2. Flamboyant Natural's best bang is side swept.
Some flamboyant naturals can play with blunt bangs. I have some the some can pull this off as long as the bangs aren't too heavy or too sleek.

However, by far in my opinion, the best bang for the FLAM NAT is the side bang. Something about the side bangs really works well for the flamboyant and pure naturals as well.

Here is a quick example the the difference a full bang verses a side bang can make for a flamboyant natural:

3. Don't forget your face
I do think body type or image I.D. matters when considering which bangs to choose but you must remember to take into account your face shape. As a flamboyant natural you may be able to pull of baby bangs or full bangs depending on your face shape.
You don't need to obsess about your face shaper either. (Ex. Are you a heart or a diamond?) There is a general rule of thumb to follow:

Longer, squared or oval faces tend to look better with blunt or full bang. While smaller, shorter or rounder faces look best with softer, curtain or side swept looks.

4. The bangs need to match your life style
As someone who's had baby bangs, side swept and blunt bangs... they're a lot of work. Especially in the beginning when you're "training" your hair. If your the kinda gal that likes to toss your hair up or are often in a rush in the morning or simple not willing to heat style your hair,  I may advise you pass on the bangs because they do require time. Some bangs are easier than others depending on your hair type so keep that in mind.
